Lollapalooza

Chicago Air and Water Show
August 16-18 2008
The Chicago Air & Water Show is the largest two-day spectator event in the United States and the longest ongoing show of its kind in North America. Highlighting the show each year is one of the US military's high speed, precision jet teams, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in 2007 and an array of other military aircraft and hardware.

Chicago Jazz Festival

The Chicago Jazz Festival, the city of Chicago’s longest running music festival. What began as a festival to remember jazz greats Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, has turned into an annual celebration of jazz music that is not to be missed. This Labor Day weekend tradition showcases the diverse talent of local, national and international musicians, with many different genres of jazz music represented throughout the celebration.

Fall Festival (November)
For more than 40 years, the trees along North Michigan Avenue have been illuminated to signal the official start of the holiday season in Chicago. The festive lighting of more than one million lights and parade along North Michigan Avenue is followed by a spectacular fireworks show over the Chicago River.
